A walk in the park.

One of the nicest compliments I can get upon finishing up a photo shoot is this one..."Oh, we're done?!  Okay, that was easy!  It felt like we just went on a walk together!"
Taking a walk in the park is exactly what I got to do a little while ago, with these two...some of my very favorite two people!  And our little walk together resulted in some of my very favorite images.
Of course, how can I go wrong...look at that sweet face!

Have I told you about the children?

Many of my friends and family have called or sent me emails about these posts, "what an experience", "how can I help", "I didn't know...", and I am so glad if my posts have touched you in some way.  Please don't hesitate to ask me questions, give me a call or email me, and please let me know if you are interested in helping these beautiful people in some way.  Please also check out Partners website where there is lots of information and a really great, easy way to donate online.

If photos affect you, pull at your heartstrings, as they do me...well, brace yourself.

In the next week or so, I will be sharing a few photos of the children we met on our visit to the IDP sites and refugee camps.  These are children who have only known a life of fear, of running from a monstrous enemy.  These children have lost grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings and/or friends in this "conflict", and every one of them still has a child's spirit alive inside of them.

They love to play and learn and be silly!  They love to be held and appreciated and valued.  They love to sing and dance!  They love to feel handsome and beautiful.  They love candy and surprises!  They giggle when they see themselves in pictures!  They squirm when they are tickled!  They say please and thank you (dah bloo) and have beautiful smiles.

They deserve a healthy childhood of peace and security.  Don't you agree?

Love these kids!

Did a recent family photo session with this amazing group of energetic people!  They are funny and sweet and smart and kind...and beautiful...and, oh, they are MINE!
We consider ourselves very fortunate to call these wonderful young women our daughters...and so blessed that they have chosen to love these wonderful young men, who cherish them in return!

I love him!

I love it when kids contemplate.  I love it when anyone takes the time to be reflective, but there is something so pure and sweet and innocent about a child in thought, even for just a moment.  Okay, so maybe he wasn't deep in thought...he may have been thinking about whether he wanted to climb on the nearby log, or chase the cow...or maybe he was thinking about the balloon we just let float away, on accident...which may have led his mind to the impermanence and fragility of life...and how delicately we have to hold on to what we love...  Okay, but likely, he was thinking about the cow!  And maybe how much he loves his mommy!

Sweetie!

So this little sweetie stopped by the other day, in preparation for his 2nd birthday party!  He has a little mischief in his eyes, as all boys do...but such a sweetheart!  Happy Birthday T!

Cuteness.

Okay, so he is a boy, and someday he won't want to be called "cute"...but for now, for today, he is my definition of CUTE!  He is surely going to break some hearts...what a charmer, with those baby blues...!
Thanks Amber, for letting us play!  And, this is just a teaser...!

Just a few fun images from my week with the girls!

This fishing boat was beached in Newport after having missed the channel, apparently. It was a very foggy day at the beach!
Nevertheless, I insisted on a quick trip over from Corvallis, so I could put my feet in the Oregon shores...I love it!

We have a tradition of writing people's names in the sand...people we miss...this time it was Aunt Connie and Bob! They are land lovers in Michigan and I wished we saw them more...! Love you!

Allison...happy!

After the visit in Oregon, the girls and I headed to Spokane, WA to celebrate an upcoming wedding! We have a great family...and it was so much fun to hang out with them for the weekend!

What a sweet guy!

I fell in love today...again! This guy is the sweetest thing...all boy, with his bumps and scrapes...and oh, so cute!
